     Thank you for visiting my website!  The purpose of your visit may be to simply introduce yourself, to initiate the exchange of ideas or to seek a formal consultation with a forensic pathologist.  My primary role as a forensic pathologist is to consider all available information relating to a death or injury investigation for the purpose of determining the CAUSE and MANNER of death and to field questions pertaining to the circumstances surrounding death or injury.  Deaths occur violently or unnaturally, or due to one or more of a number of natural disease processes with or without injury.  Investigations include toxicologic, microscopic, photographic, radiologic, serologic and microbiologic studies.  Much of my time is spent discussing the various aspects of an investigation with family members, attorneys, physicians, law enforcement personnel and other appropriate individuals.
     The training required to become a forensic pathologist generally includes completion of medical school followed by a number of years of formal training in general pathology and forensic pathology.  Following formal education, the forensic pathologist usually gains employment at a local, county or state medical examiner or coroner system.  The medical examiner occasionally participates in "outside" private work in addition to primary employment.  The duties are quite diverse; hence, the possibilities for use as a resource are many.
